Today a couple of friends of mine and I wanted to go visit the airport’s control tower. We’re fortunate enough that the really nice people at NavCanada told us that we can visit any time we wish. We got to see how the controller received and transmitted IFR clearances to Air Canada and other operators, how they dealt with flight plans and passing traffic, take weather observations, and what it’s like to work there daily. I really like being up in the tower; it is certainly a different perspective and side to the aviation industry.
