This is a photo of a male Dark-eyed Junco [Junco hyemalis] that I spotted perched on a barbed-wire fence. I really like the grey gradients of his feathers as they transition from light to dark. These birds are common and widespread and prefer to nest in open coniferous or mixed woods.
