In July 2019, my fiancée and I spotted this moose on the Tim River, Algonquin Park, en route to Longbow Lake. On our initial sighting of this bull, we were concerned about the possibility that we would spook him and risk a challenge against our thin-walled canoe. Positioning himself in the middle of the narrow waterway to better access the waterlilies, the moose didn’t leave much space for us to slip by, only about a canoe’s length. Luckily for us, this majestic animal didn’t seem to be bothered by our visit, and we were able to slowly paddle past, snapping a few photos as we glided through the water. What an incredible experience!
